Full Moon in Gemini

“Freedom is necessary for choice and choice is necessary for wisdom and growth…the sacred world of love, wisdom, fiery intelligence, passionate will, imagination and delight – is a world of freedom. But it is also binding and connecting.” David Spangler

The Moon waxes Full Saturday December 6 at 15 degrees of Gemini at 7:27 AM EST. Uranus the freedom loving planet is a strong influence at this time making it a good time to free up perceptions and make space for new and creative ideas outside the usual sense of limitations. It is a time when a new sense of emotional freedom can be attained suddenly and this unencumbered energy can be very helpful in envisioning the future in new and innovative ways. There is a lot of fiery, restless energy now and it bodes well to prioritize a clear vision before action.

Intuition is strong at this Full Moon as well. One of the Sabian symbols is,”Two People, At Widely Different Points, Are In Communication By Means Of Telepathy.”

Mars, the planet of drive and energy will be in Aquarius for the next month or so. This provides a good time to be open to new and innovative ideas about how you direct your energy to attain your goals. It provides a shift from Capricorn’s traditional/tried and true approach to one that is more inventive.

Full Moon in Taurus

“I don’t need anyone to rectify my existence, The most profound relationship we will ever have is with ourselves.” Shirley Mac Laine

The Moon waxes Full this Thursday at 14 degrees of Taurus EST. At the time of the Full Moon the Sun and Moon are in opposition – creating a polarity between the energies The sign of Taurus likes security, stability and pleasure while its opposite, Scorpio is intense and does not like stagnation – its realm is that of endings, transformation and rebirth.

This Full Moon provides a good time to look at what works in your life in terms of creating stability and security and what has become stagnant and is in need of change and transformation.

The Moon trines Pluto at this time indicating support for evolutionary initiatives and Venus is conjunct the Sun – a reminder to support yourself through the process.

Planetary Aspects this week

“Every beginning
is only a sequel, after all,
and the book of events
is always open halfway through.” Wislawa Szymborska

There is a lot of planetary activity this week. It bodes well to make an extra effort to remain calm and to reign in intense emotions. Be on the lookout for surprising events and occurrences that can lead to breakthroughs in perception. If there are delays or complications, look for opportunities and alternatives you might not have explored otherwise.

Take more care when driving and be more conscious in communication.

Uranus will station retrograde Monday, the Sun will enter Leo on Tuesday, Mars will enter Scorpio on Friday and there is a Saturn/Uranus quincunx in effect all week. Saturn holds on to the status quo – Uranus can be disruptive, surprising and unpredictable in pushing for progress and innovation. If you have been working for breakthroughs in areas where you feel blocked or stuck this is a good time for you with the New Moon on Saturday at 3 Leo.

One of the Sabian symbols for the Mars moving into Scorpio is, “A broken bottle and spilled perfume.” Do not linger long in disappointment or disillusionment – look for creative and innovative pathways out.

Why consult an astrologer? Timing is everything.

Jupiter enters Leo

“Spend some time every day listening to what your muse is trying to tell you.” St Bartholomew.

Jupiter, the planet which governs higher wisdom and philosophy entered the sign of Leo today. Jupiter in Leo ushers in a time of increased self confidence, hope and optimism. It is a good time for creativity, fun and socializing. Jupiter’s influence is considered beneficent even when in harsh aspect to other planets. Check your chart to see where Jupiter is transiting for the next year – this is an area where expansion and increase are likely to come into your life – you may be feeling it already. One of the Sabian symbols associated with this time is, “A Greek muse weighing newborn twins in golden scales.”

Why consult an astrologer? It is a gift to be seen.

Pluto and Uranus

“A world lives within you. ..Each person brings sound out of silence and coaxes the invisible to become visible….The mystery never leaves you alone.” John O’Donahue

In ancient Rome people hung plaques of the two-faced god Janus by the doorway to remind them of their inner self and their outer self as they passed by. Current astrological influences suggest that it bodes well to bring these two worlds into closer alignment.

Why consult an astrologer? Life’s challenges often find direction and resolution when viewed from a larger, more meaningful perspective.

Mars Stations Direct

“The winds and waves are always on the side of the ablest navigators.” Edward Gibbon

Mars will station direct Monday May 19 at 9 degrees of Libra. The Sabian symbol for this degree is, “A canoe is approaching safety through dangerous waters.” Mars has been retrograde since March 1 and this time frame has provided a good window to review how we envision and implement personal power – often through encountering challenging situations. As Mars prepares to move forward and engage the energy of the Cardinal Cross again it bodes well to clarify any lessons learned and prepare to move forward in a clear, focused and dynamic way next week.

Venus and Neptune

I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each

I do not think they will sing to me.

I have seen them riding seaward on the waves
Combing the white hair of the waves blown back.
When the wind blows the water white and black.

We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown
Till human voices wake us, and we drown.” TS Eliot

Venus is in Pisces now and approaching a conjunction to Neptune the lord of the sea (widely in influence through the 20th of the month.) The veils between the worlds are thin as a result and this transit provides a good time for the imagination, for creative growth and for spiritual growth. Many of TS Eliot’s significant poems are about his journey towards a higher vision and faith.
This is an unearthly transit and it bodes well to keep safe boundaries in place as a result. One of the Sabian symbols associated with this transit is, “Illuminated by a shaft of light, a large cross lies on rocks surrounded by sea and mist.” An Indian proverb speaks wisely of this – “Call on God, but steer away from the rocks.”

Jupiter Opposes Pluto

“Some beliefs are like blinders, shutting off the power to choose one’s own direction. Other beliefs are like gateways opening wide vistas for exploration.” Sophia Fah

In a recent lecture by astrologer and author Lynn Bell she described the dynamics of the powerful Jupiter/Pluto opposition now in play as “something has to die so that something else can grow.” The planetary alignment suggests that what has to die involves foundational philosophies or beliefs that have been carried to this point that need to be transformed – deepened by understanding and wisdom- and evolved. These beliefs can be ancestral in nature or be related to family, religious and cultural influences that can be seen as inauthentic or no longer true in your life.

David Whyte has written about this in his book The Heart Aroused, “So much of our experience is predicated on the consciousness with which we enter it – our future possibilities already mortgaged to past limitations.”

Saturn and the North Node are in close proximity now. It is as if we are at an important way station on a journey and it bodes well to use discrimination about which personal beliefs we are taking forward and which ones need to be left behind.

Sophia Fah Quote from her book “It Matters what you Believe”

Jupiter and Mars

“Life is a grindstone. Whether it grinds us down or polishes us up depends on us.” Thomas L. Holdcroft

It is a time of considerable planetary activity – Within a short time frame Mercury stationed direct, Mars stationed retrograde, Saturn stationed retrograde and on Thursday March 6 Jupiter stations retrograde. Mars will be retrograde through late May and this provides excellent timing to reassess how you implement or short circuit the use of your power in actualizing your life purpose or life mission. It is also a good time to look at what role anger plays in the process – unresolved anger can hold a lot of energy and create blockages to personal evolution.
One of the Sabian symbols associated with the Jupiter station Thursday is, “A large diamond in the first stages of the cutting process.”

New Moon in Pisces

“Faith is some truth that you heartfully merge with. It’s like compassion, the merging. Belief is a system of the mind and the mind is part of the ego…If you have faith then grace will stay and it is real.” Ram Dass

The New Moon on Saturday March 1 is at 10 degrees of Pisces. One of the Sabian symbols for this placement is “Men Traveling a Narrow Path, Seeking Illumination” and another is “An Examination of Initiates in the Sanctuary of an Occult Brotherhood.” It is a good time to commit to growing the amount of faith and hope in your life, to commit to developing a deeper connection with your spiritual system and to be increasingly open to guidance related to your life mission.

“Faith is not merely a way of knowing: it is a way of participating.” Robert Ellwood

Sabian symbol references from Lynda Hill’s 360 Degrees of Wisdom, Ram Daas quote from his book Fierce Grace and Ellwood quote from his book The Cross and the Grail. All times mentioned are EST.
