Saturn in Scorpio

“It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for what is essential is hidden from the eyes.” Antoine de Saint Exupery

Saturn has moved back into the sign of Scorpio – it is now at the 29th degree. This degree – known as the “fated degree” – indicates a threshold time. It is a good time to review commitments related to personal regeneration, transformation and values in intimate relationship. It also bodes well to review areas related to investment and joint financial matters.
Saturn will station direct in early August and leave the sign of Scorpio in mid September.

With Mercury’s recent retrograde period and challenging aspect to Neptune it has been a good time to consider how inspiration informs your thinking and adjust the balance for the better if indicated. One of the Sabian symbols associated with this transit is, “An aviator in the clouds” indicating a good time to view things from a higher perspective.
Mercury is starting to moving forward into clearer territory now.

Lunar Eclipse Thursday

Our beliefs can have a lot of power to shape how we experience existence.” Genevieve Hathaway
The first of three eclipses in the next month is Thursday April 25 at 5 degrees of Scorpio. The Scorpio/Taurus axis represents what we value in our lives and what we need to let go of in order to have it. It is a good time to release or reframe longstanding emotional burdens we carry – particularly those that we do not customarily consider. This eclipse period presents the opportunity of rapid personal evolution. Keep the focus on what you are creating.

August ’12 Astrology

“Through application comes awareness.” Edgar Cayce.

August 1 the Moon is waxes full at 10 degrees of Aquarius opposing the Sun in Leo. The sign of Leo governs royalty and the sign of Aquarius governs humanity. This is the polarity which we see echoed in many of the issues of our time as we move towards a more Aquarian time.

The sign of Aquarius also governs groups and associations we choose to align with – friends and coworkers who share kindred values and help us to actualize our work in the world more fully. This influence provides a good time to re- examine where we collaborate in order to function more effectively.

August 8 EDT Mercury turns direct at 1 degree of Leo. Heed any messages that come within few days before and after the day of the station – particularly those that have a surprising or innovative quality to them. Mercury/Uranus aspects are known for flashes of insight and breakthroughs are possible with lightning speed under this influence.

Venus will move into the sign of Cancer on the 9th and will form a harmonious trine to Neptune. Take advantage of this energy which is in play through mid month to expand imagination and dreams. It also bodes well for romance.

As we approach mid month the aspects becoming more challenging as Venus enters the Pluto/Uranus square. This can be a time when fears around scarcity can arise and present challenges we may have thought were resolved – challenges related to self esteem, relationship issues and finances. Feelings run deep. Proactively it is a time that offers another layer of healing around these issues as well as an opportunity to attain more clarity and develop courage and insight. Pluto/Venus aspects are related to developing a deeper understanding of life and the meaning of love in the world – often through a process that involves loss.

This can also bring “love at first sight” experiences – best entered into with these influences with caution and awareness.

The Sun moves into Virgo on the 23rd. The upcoming month will provide an opportunity to integrate a new levels of awareness more fully.

Mars moves into Scorpio on 8/23 – Mars is the god of action and loves to act impulsively. It is best all month long to avoid rushing as well as impulsive speech and behavior.

Quote from Divine Sparks by Karen Speerstra

January 2012 Astrology

“Let it grow, let it grow,
Let it blossom let it flow,
In the rain and in the snow…
Plant your love and let it grow.” Eric Clapton

Well here we are in 2012. Welcome to a very transformative time on planet  Earth.
The month of January is a fertile time for sowing the seeds of intention and fortifying tender shoots.  Be very clear and be open to affirmations. Endeavors which involve transformation and innovation will receive support.
It is a good month to examine daily routines and how they contribute to or detract from the ongoing creation of good health.  Identify unproductive habits related to work, lifestyle, diet and move in a more vibrant direction. Apply innovative approaches and methods.
When frustrations occur or tempers flare, regard it as an opportunity to interact in a new way rather than automatically responding with an old perspective.
Significant time frames and dates for the month:
The Full Moon falls on 1/9 at 18 degrees of Cancer. This Moon is related to the recent eclipses in Cancer and Capricorn. It involves the evolution of matters concerning home, family, ancestry, ancestral inheritance as well as the dream life and its correlation to the mundane world. Under the light of this full Moon it bodes well to contemplate these areas of life. It is a good time to ask for advice from ancestors.
January 8 – 14 Mercury will conjunct Pluto in Capricorn. It bodes well to think about how some traditional forms of thinking or being may no longer serve you and how you might organize your life to feel more effective and authentic.
From the 9th through the 18th Venus will conjunct Neptune.  On the 14 Venus will enter Pisces and conjunct Chiron. This period is an excellent good time for spiritual and creative growth. Chiron’s involvement indicates that it is a good time to heal old wounds through forgiveness and a spiritual approach.
Mars stations retrograde on the 23 – more about this later.
A word about 2012- Author and Jungian analyst Clarissa Pinkola Estes has written about the importance of acknowledging the many small and large deaths which occur throughout our lifetimes. Not necessarily literal deaths – although that can pertain as well – but endings which are transformative in nature – small and large endings which hold the seeds of a new beginning. Births, graduations, marriage, divorce, job changes, moves – all these kinds of events represent the death of the old and herald the start of the new. This is what the aspects of 2012 – widely in effect through 2017 are about – a gate time which represents a significant time in personal and planetary evolution.

New Moon 12/24

“Love is most nearly itself
When here and now cease to matter.” TS Eliot

The New Moon on Saturday December 24 falls at 2 degrees of Capricorn at 1:06 PM EST. Jupiter and Saturn are a strong influence in the sky as is Chiron- the asteroid of the Wounded Healer.  Resolution of difficult situations and doorways into opportunity can come now through a creative or spiritual approach.

December 2011 Astrology

“A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a person contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral.” Antoine de Saint Exupery

Astrological influences indicate that ideas can take root and move in into manifestation quickly these days so it bodes well to keep thoughts proactive and positive.

There is significant planetary activity in December indicating that the month is likely to hold more twists and turns than we normally anticipate. To minimize turbulence flexibility is key. Much is in flux and it is better to regard the passage through the month as an open ended education than a time of fixed ideas and expectations. Heed well the lessons learned this December because they can be valuable in the long term.

Make an extra effort to ensure communications are clear. Through mid month Mercury will be retrograde in Sagittarius and Mars will be retrograde in Virgo. When situations or communications go awry misunderstandings can arise more suddenly than usual and lead to criticism or conflict. It is best to regard situations like this as a riddle and ascertain where the loose strands lie, rather than taking a dogmatic or self righteous approach.

In early December Venus will move up to a conjunction with Pluto. Concerns about love, relationship, scarcity, finances and security can surface with more power than usual. It bodes well to avoid extremes in thinking or action under these influences and to keep balance and moderation in mind.

There is a Lunar Eclipse on Dec. 10 at 18 degrees of Gemini. Many options or ideas may present themselves all month long and it will be easy to get distracted and feel impatient.  It bodes well to make an extra effort to concentrate and put off any important decisions until after Mercury stations direct on the 14th.

Uranus stations direct on the same day as the eclipse at 0 Aries- a powerful point in astrology for new beginnings. It is a good time to heed breakthroughs, and ideas that open doors into a more expansive future.

Mercury will station direct on Dec 14th   clearing the way for improved communication and travel. It bodes well to revisit any adjustments in plans, concepts and ideas that occurred over the retrograde period (since late November.) and put them into action after the station.

Jupiter stations direct on Dec. 25 – boding well for celebrations – just watch for excess.

The Sun conjuncts Pluto on the 29th – making late December a very good time to process inner and outer changes which have transpired during 2011.

Mars Squares Jupiter

A good adage for the early part of this week is “slow and steady wins the race.” with the overabundance of energy of Mars/Jupiter square. Mars/ Jupiter aspects are known for overshooting the mark. Alot can be accomplished through a discplined approach with a proven track record – beware of excessive acts which may not pay off in the long run.

On the Mercury/Neptune opposition

Things can be really confusing sometimes when Mercury is in hard aspect to Neptune. It is a bit like wandering around in the fog in your mind. Literally there can be confusion with communication and the tools of communication.
Yesterday when I went out to get the mail from our mailbox across the street I was disappointed that my new Tarot deck had not yet arrived. Instead I found a sheet of paper from the Post Office- a form – (and I try to avoid filling out forms at all costs) with a handwritten note from our friendly and welcoming rural delivery person. In cursive it read, “Welcome to town! Please fill this out and return it to us. Thank you.” There were lines for the customary contact information as well as a space for the name of anyone else receiving mail at the address. The problem was I had filled this form out quite awhile ago and didn’t understand why I would have to do it again. I speculated about why this should be necessary and then finally just decided not to fill it out and tossed it into the recycling. Later that night I remembered a new family had moved in across the street and thought that the letter had found its way by mistake into my box. Because the Sun is in Virgo (worry) I Lay awake wondering what other mail was in the wrong box.
This morning when I went out to get the mail I decided to look the situation over more carefully. My mailbox is the last on the left in a row of three. But when I looked more closely I realized that my mailbox was no longer the last in line – that now belonged to the new family. The mail carrier had put the form in the right box!
