New Moon in Aquarius

“Many hands make light work” John Heywood
February’s New Moon is Monday the 8th at 19 degrees of Aquarius. This New Moon provides excellent timing to commit or recommit to important goals or initiatives that may have stalled out during the month of January. The sign of Aquarius speaks of the enlightened collaborator. It is a good time for strengthening bonds with people and organizations that share your aspirations.
There can the tendency towards impulsiveness at this time but it is better to commit to incremental, slow, steady steps to get where you want to go.
One of the Sabian symbols associated with this New Moon is, ” A large white dove bearing a message.” Another is, “A parrot listening and then talking repeats a conversation he has overheard.”
In this time of information and opinion overload it is wise with the influences to consider how you listen, who and what you are listening to and the authenticity and quality of what you are saying.
As with the Queens and Kings  of old, an Astrologer or Tarot Card Reader should be a trusted ally on your life’s path.

New Moon in Aquarius and Chinese New Year

“Redeem the time.Redeem
The unread vision in the higher dream
While jeweled unicorns draw by the gilded hearse.”
from Ash Wednesday by TS Eliot

The New Moon at 29 Aquarius falls on Ash Wednesday, February 18, the first day of Lent in the Christian/Catholic tradition and on the eve of Chinese New Year. Many Catholic bishops in East Asia have granted Asian Catholics a special dispensation from traditional Lenten fasting in order to celebrate the Chinese New Year. This special dispensation shows a willingness on the part of the Church to adapt in order to interface in a reasonable way where religious views and cultural differences appear to be at odds. We see this theme manifesting in many ways in our time as we struggle to find an appropriate and respectful balance between the two. The Sabian symbol associated with this time is, “A crowded marketplace,” a reminder that we live in an interconnected global community.

Over the next few weeks Mars and Venus will be traveling together in Aries – a good time for increased energy, assertiveness and courage. The New Moon is part of a cycle of beginnings and endings. It is a threshold time – good to clarify what is ending, what is new and what your aspirations are for moving forward.

New Moon in Aquarius and Mercury Retrograde

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” Buckminster Fuller

Tuesday’s New Moon (8:14 am EST) is at 0 degrees of Aquarius. This is the last New Moon in a series that occur on the day the Sun changes signs- this time into Aquarius. Be innovative about your life’s direction now and look for open doors. It is best to set intentions which come from a place of evolving inner wholeness.
Mercury stations retrograde on Wed the 21st at 17 degrees of Aquarius. I was listening to a lecture by the astrologer Rick Levine who mentioned that the three largest internet outages in history all occurred on a day when Mercury was stationing. So not that it is necessarily going to happen this time but do make sure important info is backed up pronto. Mercury will station direct Feb 12.

Venus Stations Direct

“The universe is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper.” Eden Phillpots

Venus stations direct on Friday 1/31 following the New Moon at 10 degrees of Aquarius on Thursday 1/30. One of the Sabian symbols of this New Moon is, “During a silent hour a person receives new inspiration which may change his life.” It bodes well to provide some quiet time to take an inspired approach to new aspirations – particularly those related to self esteem, relationships, finances and ways to bring more pleasure, harmony and joy into your life. Venus has been retrograde since Dec 21 and will station conjunct Pluto and opposite Jupiter- supporting efforts to transform underlying belief systems which inhibit growth and making wisdom and hope more accessible.

New Moon in Aquarius

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.” Satchel Paige

The New Moon is Sunday 2/10 at 21 degrees of Aquarius. One of the Sabian symbols associated with this placement is, “A Rug Placed on the Floor for Children to Play On.” It is a good time to let dreams and visions evolve and let the imagination roam. There is power in this New Moon for clear intentions. Be on the lookout for new opportunities and for kindred spirits who may help actualize your aspirations.
