“The Pacific Ocean overflowed the map. There was no place to put it. It was so big, unruly and blue that it fit nowhere. That’s why they left it in front of my window,” Pablo Neruda
“The room was suddenly rich, and the great bay window was
Spawning snow and pink roses against it
Soundlessly collateral and incompatible:
World is suddener than we fancy it.” Louis Mac Niece
The Sun is now in Pisces now until the Vernal Equinox on March 20. Albert Einstein was born under this somewhat magical, enigmatic, emotional and sometimes absent- minded sign. He wrote that imagination is more important than knowledge.
This Pisces season is ruled by Neptune, the god of the sea who also rules the realm of dreams, visions and creativity. It is a good month to get in touch with a more poetic way of thinking. It also is a good time to expand empathy and kindness.
Venus is now conjunct Pluto and Saturn and this is very much like Persephone’s journey through the underworld. This planetary line up offers the opportunity to understand more deeply any issues dealing with love and abundance in your life. But it does require a journey through a space of not-knowing.
The Irish human rights activist and lifelong love of William Butler Yeats, Maude Gonne, in the process of undergoing an initiation into a spiritual organization, was required to choose a phrase which symbolized her journey. She chose “Through the Darkness to the Light.” This is very much the realm of Persephone. And it’s wise to remember that when Persephone’s journey in the underworld ended, it signaled the beginning of spring and the growth of new life.
One of the Sabian symbols for the Sun’s ingress into Pisces is, “Moonlit fields, once Babylon, are blooming bright.”
