It’s wise to take note of events which have occurred and are occuring around this time as they may likely be shining the light on your path forward. The North Node which is now at 28 Aquarius is making a harmonious connection with the Sun at 28 degrees of Libra.

The Sun is also opposite Chiron, the asteroid of the Wounded Healer and personal evolution. Blockages and blind spots related to the path forward can be seen more clearly now and do not need to hinder progress.

I have two friends here who have an antique shop in town. They carry some metaphysical supplies, offer iridology readings and advice from a naturopath. I go down and join them there often to visit and do Tarot and Astrology readings in their cosy attic room.

One time when I was down there we were talking and my friend said, “We have just decided at this point in our lives, that from now on. we are going to be a light.”

We are in a bit of a testy time this week – with Venus square Pluto exact in the wee hours of Tuesday but in effect throughout the week. This can be a time when memories can surface of painful events in terms of love (of all kinds) and loss. It can also be a time when feelings of scarcity can arise – around money and other things.

The Sun moves into Scorpio on Friday -moving into a time when concerns can turn to the mysterious and deep side of things.The nights are longer and the earth turns inward.

It’s wise to remember that Scorpio is also the sign of the Phoenix who rises from the ashes. This speaks of the everpresent opportunity for spiritual and emotional evolution and rebirth.

Mercury will station retrograde on Saturday the 24th at 20 degrees of Scorpio.

The Moon is full Tuesday the 26 at 2 degrees of Taurus.

There are a number of retrograde planets now – Venus, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, and Pluto. Chiron, who is prominent often in the charts of healers, is also retrograde, Mercury is preparing to station retrograde on the 24th of October at 20 degrees of Scorpio. The retrograde period will span through November 13 when he will sstation direct at 5 degrees of Scorpio. Venus will station direct on the same day – November 13 – at 22 degrees of Libra.

In general, this indicates an introspective time and with the Venus and Mercury retrogrades it can be about the balance between head and heart. It’s wise to remember that retrograde periods are like a journey or a period of transition. If you’re looking for some kind of resolution, the roll out is likely to occur slowly and incrementally. After the stations on November 13, things are likely to become more clear.

Venus will station retrograde this week on October 3 and the retrograde period will last through November 13. Venus will station in opposition to Chiron, the Wounded Healer.

The archetype of Chiron is associated with the process of restoring or creating a new sense of wholeness after painful experiences. Often there is a common theme around what these experiences are about and they usually necessitate a growth in self knowledge, understanding and compassion.

The Venus retrograde in Scorpio gives us a cycle of forty days to explore this territory more deeply. Since it’s in Scorpio it provides a good window to explore more deeply the areas of life related to self esteem – how you feel about yourself, your relationship with your work, your income.

For part of the retrograde Venus will be in the relationship sign of Libra so thie involves our relationships with others as well – how comfortable and authentic we feel in relationships of all kinds.

The Peruvian shamans believe that when people experience trauma, part of their soul fragments off. They have a ritual called soul retrieval in which they call back and integrate the fragmented piece. The start of the Venus retrograde cycle with the opposition to Chiron offers the opportunity to experience this time frame as one of healing inner fragmentation and moving in a new direction of wholeness.

The Full Moon is Saturday September 26 at 12:49 PM EDT at 3 degrees of Libra opposite the Moon in Aries. The Moon will be conjunct Neptune.

There is an unearthly quality to the Moon/Neptune conjunction. It bodes well for spiritual and creative endeavors but can make thinking foggy.

The sign of Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of action and desire. It is often called the sign of the warrior. It has energy, drive and singe minded focus.

Mars at this time will be opposing Pluto. Mars /Pluto aspects are found often in the charts of professional athletes. It provides a good time for projects that require a lot of physical energy.

This duo can also contribute to a more heated environment in which tensions can easily arise.

Venus is preparing to station retrograde on October 3 at eight degrees of Scorpio. The retrograde period will end November 13 with Venus at 22 degrees of Libra.In general Venus retrograde periods bode well for reassessing what we value. More on this later.

Neptune continues to make a favorable alignment with Pluto. This is a long term aspect and can bring back an old dream in a new form.

The Sun enters the sign of Libra on Tuesday 9/22- ushering in the Autumn Equinox – a time of of growing darkness here in the northern hemisphere.

The Equinox is a time of balance and equilibrium illustrated by the equal time between day and night – making it a good time to restore and renew balance and equilibrium.

The power at this time can be harnessed to effect new beginnings and endings. Make some space for something new to enter your life.

The New Moon this month is on Thursday September 10 with the Sun and the Moon together at 18 degrees of Virgo.

With all the many changes going on in the world now, Virgo season encourages us to slow down and focus on the small things that make the larger initiatives gain traction.

It bodes well to look at the workings of body, mind and spirit to see if there are desired improvements – particularly in terms of moving away from unproductive habits.  The New Moon  provides a good time for pattern breaking and creating healthier routines.

Under this infuence, it bodes well to nourish the nervous system and provide extra downtime in order to integrate information.

On the day of the New Moon, Venus will move into the Scorpio, Uranus will station retrograde and Mercury will enter Libra – a good opportunity to strengthen self esteem and broaden your outlook.

Mercury is in Virgo now and is comfortable in this sign he rules. This provides a good time for analytical thinking, organizing and planning. Do watch for overthinking with this placement. Mercury will transit Virgo through September 10 this year.

There’s a partial Lunar Eclipse at this Friday’s Full Moon at 4 degrees of Pisces with the Sun at 4 Virgo. At the time of the Eclipse (12:18 AM EDT) Uranus, the planet of innovation, the future and the unexpected will be squaring the Sun and Moon. There can be sudden  flashes of insight when Uranus is a strong influence.

Eclipses are like crossroad times. It’s a good time to think about what you are taking forward with you and what you are leaving behind. And at this time, thinking is  emphasized. It’s a good time to leave outdated or unproductive thinking behind- particularly thought patterns that have, as a result of overthinking,  no resolution at the end. Or end in discouragement.

The influence of Eclipses can be felt in advance (especially with Uranus involved) and after the actual time of the event.

The week starts off with a variety of influences. If you have been feeling confused or not quite up to par, that could well be connected with the current square of Mars and Neptune. It’s a good time to strengthen the immune system. Things can seem murky under this influence and it can blur perceptions. The good news is this aspect is wanting  now and will be less of an influence as the week goes on.

Fortunately Saturn is making a harmonious alignment with Mercury provding an anchor of sorts. This can help stabilize and bring clarity to the thought process.

With Mars is in Cancer now,  there  can be more sensitivity and concern about family/extended family issues. Fortunately .Venus, Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn are aligned harmoniously. This provides a good time to reach out and check in with people we care about. Cancer is the sign of  family, mothering and nurturing. Mars will be in the sign of Cancer through late September.

It’s wise to remember we are in between eclipses with the upcoming Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on August 28. Things that may seem confusing or unresolved may reach  further resolution at the Lunar Eclipse or shortly therafter,

The Sun is moving up to a conjunction with the South Node this week. This can sometimes bring people from our past – especially those we have karmic relationships with – back into our lives.

It’s wise to watch for slipping into old patterns that are disempowering with the South Node influence.

The Sun will enter the sign of Virgo on August 22.

One of the things I think is so interesting about Eclipses is that their influence can be felt in advance as well as after the actual event. We are in Eclipse season now – with a Solar Eclipse on the 12th and a Lunar Eclipse on the 28th.

At the time of the Solar Eclipse, the  Sun and Moon will be conjunct at 20 degrees of the fiery sign of Leo at 1:36 PM EDT.

As the astrologer and writer Eric Francis has said, “Eclipses are about pattern setting and resetting.” With the Leo influence, this is a good time to cultivate courage and rekindle a sense of adventure for the journey ahead.

There are beautiful aspects with Venus at this time -as  she aligns with Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.  This is a romantic combination and bodes well for romantic times together. There can be new and surprising occurrences around love and friendship.

Venus also opposes Neptune. This combination is often found in the charts of spiritual seekers and mystics . It speaks of the need to turn the personal desire for affection into a universal sense of love and compassion.

It is a time that bodes well for creative and spiritual  emergence  and renewal – a time for connecting with inspiration and higher dimensions through meditation or quiet reflection.
