Monday’s Full Moon , with Scorpio, Taurus and Pluto

“It wants you to open itself
like the door of a little temple
so that you might step inside and be cooled and refreshed,
and less yourself and part of everything.” Mary Oliver

I was having tea with a friend the other day and she showed me a Tarot deck that she had recently purchased. It is very small – half the size of a normal Waite deck. It’s called Pixie’s Lenormand Deck and the cards were made from paintings by set designer Pamela Coleman’s Smith, who did the paintings for the Waite deck. A.E Waite, who created it, was a member of the Golden Dawn – a mystical organization in London in 1909.

The difference though, is that Pixie deck has some cards that Waite’s deck does not – for example one called “The Letter” that portrays a Victorian woman in a long gown in her garden reading a letter, one called “The Garden” which depicts a beautiful garden with a fountain in the middle and one called “The Snake”.

I have been studying a bit about quantum shysics – particularly how it correlates to what we call manifestation in our time.I have been surprised with the parallels between ancient Peruvian shamanic teachings and quantum physics. in any event witnessing synchronicity is a part of both systems.

They say about Astrology, “timing is everything.” The same is true about the Tarot.

In any event to grow familiar with the Pixie deck I would pick a card or two each day.One of the cards that I picked was The Snake, which in Peruvian shamanism is related to the periodic need to “shed an old skin.” What they mean by this is to shed outgrown beliefs or particularly beliefs about how we define ourselves and/or the ways others defined us and we took on. The disavowing or shedding process moves us into a new level of personal autheniticy and puts us more fully in the present.

They say in the old texts that the influence of the Full Moon is “three days coming and three days going” which means technically we are under the influence now. At the time of the Full Moon in Scorpio Monday 10/26 in the wee hours EDT, Pluto squares the Sun and Moon on the Taurus/Scorpio axis. The Scorpio/Taurus axis is about the process of holding on (Taurus) and letting go (Scorpio), making this a very good time for letting go of what we no longer need to move in a more present, authentic direction.

One of the Sabian Symbols for this time is ,”a broken bottle and spilled perfume.”
