New Moon in Aquarius and Mercury Retrograde

Tuesday’s New Moon (8:14 am EST) is at 0 degrees of Aquarius. This is the last New Moon in a series that occur on the day the Sun changes signs- this time into Aquarius. Be innovative about your life’s direction now and look for open doors. It is best to set intentions which come from a place of evolving inner wholeness.
Mercury stations retrograde on Wed the 21st at 17 degrees of Aquarius. I was listening to a lecture by the astrologer Rick Levine who mentioned that the three largest internet outages in history all occurred on a day when Mercury was stationing. So not that it is necessarily going to happen this time but do make sure important info is backed up pronto. Mercury will station direct Feb 12.

Mercury Prepares to Station Retrograde

Astrologer and shamanic teacher Lena Stevens has written that May has been a month of integration. She went on to say that it could easily feel as if you had emptied out the contents of your closet and they were in a big pile in the middle of the floor. The next step involves sorting through – to see what is appropriate for your life moving forward and what needs to be left behind. With the amount of change many people are experiencing- both inner and outer- this image provides a good way to view the influence of recent astrological activity.
With Venus in Taurus it is wise to value and appreciate yourself and what you have created as a starting point.
Mercury will turn retrograde Saturday June 7 and will travel in retrograde mode until July 1. The usual caveats apply – leave extra time when traveling, double check the details on any legal agreements and make an extra effort to keep communications clear – double checking when snafus arise. It is a good to rethink and review.
In July a number of planets will be moving direct – offering a time of increased clarity.

Mars and Mercury

One time a friend phoned me after a harrowing experience. She had been late getting started one morning and a busy morning it was. She had to stop and get gas on the way to dropping her daughter off at school and then she had to get to work. On the way to the gas station though she realized she had forgotten her wallet and had to turn around and return home to retrieve it.
As she approached the gas station on her way back she was surprised to see the flashing lights of police cars and law enforcement officials surrounding the scene with yellow tape. There had been an attempted robbery, shooting and fatality.
“If I hadn’t forgotten my wallet I would have been at the gas station at the time of the shooting,” she said.
I tell this tale not because of the violent component but because of the element of timing. For the next few weeks as Mercury slows down, stations and starts to move direct (March 1) and Mars slows down to station retrograde ( March 4) things are likely to go awry with planning and execution. It is wise to anticipate complications, delays and snafus.
The meaning of events is often best understood from the vantage point of the future rather than at the time of occurrence.
