Chiron and the New Moon in Libra

“Chiron’s position in the natal chart represents the place where we experience fragmentation or a wound. However, it also represents our greatest chance to overcome it and become increasingly whole.” Eva Stangenberg

Chiron, the king of the centaurs, whose incurable wound transformed him into a healer, is a strong influence in Tuesday’s New Moon and the upcoming lunar cycle. At the time of the New Moon, 8:25 AM EDT on 10/20, Chiron  in Aries will be opposing the Sun and Moon in Libra and forming a square to Jupiter.

When Chiron is a strong influence in the sky, it indicates the evolutionary  journey of wounding and healing is with us.  If challenges arise now,  it is a wise to consider them an  opportunity to respond in a new way, a way that represents a step on  journey towards increased inner wholeness.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”a person alone in deep gloom. Unnoticed, angels are coming to her aid.”

A Busy Week for Venus Newly in Libra

“Let whoever never loved, love tomorrw
Let whoever has loved, love tomorrow.” Ezra Pound

“You will recognize what I am saying or you will not.
But outside my window all day a maple has stepped
from her leaves like a woman in love with winter,
dropping the colored silks.
Neither are we different in what we know.
There is a door. It opens. Then it is closed. But a slip of
light stays, like a scrap of unreadable paper left on the floor,
or the one red leaf the snow releases in March.” Jane Hirshfield

it’s a busy week for Venus – the goddess of love, pleasure and beauty.

Venus enters the diplomatic sign of Libra today. This can bring a more sociable time and a time when there’s a desire to find more balance and fairness in relationships.

Early in the week Venus will be opposing Neptune and Saturn. This can bring  a certain lack of clarity or confusion to  agreements made at this time. Best to let events unfold.

Venus is also making a favorable trine to Uranus – the planet of surprises and  the unexpected. This can bring a time when the powers of attraction – to attract abundance and love – are strong. It can bring exciting events.

Venus will trine Pluto -an aspect that can bring transformation in relationships and also encourages the deepening of connections.

Toward the end of the week the Sun will square Jupiter. There’s a tendency to exaggerate with this influence and it’s best to proceed with moderation as Jupiter can be associated with excess.

Mars and Mercury both trine the North Node of life path and destiny towards the end of the week. It’s wise to raise awarenss for guidance about  moving into the future.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”The dawn of a new day reveals everything changed.”

Monday’s Full Moon in Aries

“We do not learn from experience…we learn from reflecting on experience.” John Dewey

“Just like moons and the suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I rise.” Maya Angelou

The Moon waxes Full Monday near midnight at 11:48 PM  EDT at 14 degrees of Aries. This is a super Moon – meaning it is very close to the earth. Emotions tend to be strong under this influence.

The sign of Aries loves to initiate things and take action and can sometimes be impulsive. Although there may be a strong pull in this direction,  it is a better time to slow down and think things through before reacting.

It bodes well to consider what you’re aspirations  have been up to this point, how much progress has been made so far and where you would like to go from here.

There are some inconjuncts in the Full Moon chart and inconjuncts indicate the need for adjustment. It can feel like an unsteady time and it’s best to slow down and and make time for review and reconsidation.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is, “A woman weaving a blanket in the light of the setting sun.”

A Peek at This Week in Astrology

“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.” Anais Nin

The tiny purple Michelmas daisies are blooming in NH now – a reminder that Michelmas is not far away. This ancient festival, has been celebrated throughout the western world for centuries. It commemorates the battle and slaying of a dragon by a brave young man named George with the help of the archangel, Michael. This festival is celebrated around the time of the Autumn Equinox and is a reminder to cultivate courage and inner light as the darker days of winter approach and the nature world turns inward.

The week starts off with a harmonious alignment between the Sun and Pallas Athene. Pallas was the goddess of strategy and diplomacy. This is a good time for brainstorming new strategies.

On Wednesday Juno, the asteroid of marriage and commitment will enter Sagittarius- a good time for adding excitement and adventure to relationships.

Mars squares Pallas Athene this week exact on Thursday. Best to take your time in planning and negotiating as obstacles can more easily arise.

Mercury will  be opposing Chiron – the asteroid of the Wounded Healer. Painful, though instructive conversations can occur.

Venus conjuncts the South Node this week. This is a good time to reassess emotional attachments and whether if it would be beneficial to adjust them. Watch for old discouraging patterns that can arise that made need another level of release.

One of the Sabian symbols for this week is,”A young woman awaiting a sailboat.”

Sunday’s Solar Eclipse and the Fall Equinox

“Last night as I lay sleeping,
I dreamt -marvellous error –
that a spring was breaking
out in my heart.
I said, along which secret aqueduct,
oh water, are you coming to me,
water of a new life
that I have never drunk?” Antonio Machado

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do
With your one wild and precious life?” Mary Oliver

Sunday’s partial Solar Eclipse is at 3:53PM EDT at 29 degrees of Virgo,  the anaretic degree. The Sun and Moon will be aspecting Saturn, Neptune, Pluto and Uranus at this time. It’s best to watch for overthinking and excess worry..

The symbolism of the Eclipse speaks of a culmination of sorts – a time before a breakthrough. And that may come as the next day on Monday 9/23, the Sun moves into the harmonious sign of Libra at 2:19 PM.

The Equinox provides a powerful time for intention setting. It’s wise to use the time leading up to it to think of what you’d like  to let go of in your life to create the room for the new.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is.”A woman is gaining secret knowledge from an ancient scroll she is reading.”

A Peek at this Week

“You can’t stop the waves but you can learn to surf.” Jon Kabat-Zinn

“Empathy has no script. There’s no wrong way or right way to do it. It’s simply listening, holding space, witholding judgment, emotionally connecting and communicating that incredibly healing message of, ‘you’re not alone.’ Brene Brown

We just passed the midpoint between the two Eclipses -the Lunar Eclipse on the 7th and the Solar Eclipse on Sunday the 21st. The time between eclipses can feel a bit unsteady at times and it’s best to keep a balanced perspective and stay focused in the present.

There can be more personal vulnerability this week  as Chiron is strong in the sky – opposing Mars. Feelings can be more easily hurt and boundaries may feel taxed. It’s best -in general his week -to keep focused on the matters at hand. A little levity can go a long way.

On the 17th Mercury moves up to an opposition to Saturn. This can be a more serious time for thought and speech. In the old texts Saturn was correlated with melancholy. It’s wise to keep a balanced perspective.

It’s a good week to check and recheck information with Mercury opposite Neptune as there can be clouded communications or the misrepresentation of information.

Venus is moving up to a square to Uranus. Under this influence  impatience and irritability may arise more easily.

The Solar Eclipse is on Sunday the 21 at 29 degrees of Virgo. The Sun will be opposing Saturn at this time. It is a good time to start something new -but  best to keep in mind with Saturn’s influence that patience will go a long way in the process.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”Through imagination a lost opportunity is regained.”

In Between Eclipses

“Slowly, silently now the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon;
This way and that she peers and sees
Silver fruit upon silver trees;
One by one the casements catch
Her beams beneath the silvery thatch;
Couched in his kennel like a log;
With paws of silver sleeps the dog.” Walter de la Mare

We are in an Eclipse period now – transitioning between the  recent Full Moon Lunar Eclipse and moving up to the Solar Eclipse on September 21st at 29 degrees of Virgo.

It’s wise to use this time – before the 21st- to pay attention to (nighttime) dreams as emotional healing can transpire in subtle ways now with Uranus back in Pisces and the recent Lunar  Eclipse in the subtle  and mysterious sign also.

The Sabian symbol for the upcoming Solar New Moon Eclipse is.”having an urgent task to complete, a woman doesn’t look to any distractions.”

It is wise during the time between Eclipses  to make an extra effort to stay grounded and in the present. It is a time when the information may not yet be all in and a good time- if possible- to delay important decisions until after the New Moon on the 21st.

Dreams and Surprises – This Week in Astrology

“Sometimes life is so surprising there’s nothing to do but live.”Emily Dickenson

“Last night as I lay sleeping
I dreampt – marvelous error-
That I had a beehive
here inside my heart
And the golden bees
were making white combs
and sweet honey
from my old failures. “Antonio Machado

Saturn backtracked into Pisces yesterday and will remain in this elusive sign through February 14, 2026. This provides a good time to revisit dreams and aspirations.

Limitations we impose on ourselves can be seen more clearly now and where – with the help of Saturn- we need to persevere and work harder.

We are entering Eclipse season with the first Lunar Eclipse on Sunday the 7th at  15 degrees of Pisces. It’s a good time to pay extra attention to your dreams now and reassess where stronger boundaries may be needed to work towards goals.

Mercury enters Virgo today. This is a “get down to work” placement and good for attending to work which requires detail oriented attention.

Mercury squares Uranus this week – there can be surprises and unexpected events. Best to keep communications very clear and  don’t let technological snafus catch you by surprise. Patience, more down time and chamomile tea will be allies this week.

Jupiter will make a favorable alignment with the North Node  this week. Best to be open to change and new directions for personal evolution.

In general in this time there can be a tendency to rush and push to move forward but it’s best to slow down. This will be true this week in terms of the Mars/Jupiter alignment which is associated with “overshooting the mark.”

Uranus will station retrograde this week on the 6th – the day before the Lunar Eclipse.  This can be a nervy week in general. Best to strengthen the nervous system and provide downtime to relax and replenish.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”A peacock is parading on the terrace of an old castle.”

Manifestation, Romance and a Peek at this Week

“Dreams are a manifestation of the subconscious. Any personal condition, before becoming a reality, is first a dream.”Edgar Cayce

“It is said that what you reap is what you sow. This is because whatever you emanate you will encounter…You alter your patterns of outer manifestation by altering your inner experience of self.” Martia Nelson

Recently when my car was in the shop, I received a call from the service department notifying me the work on the car was finished and I could come and pick it up.

When I called back later to check on my balance due after the insurance payment, they notified me that although the work on the car was finished, they had not yet received the check from the insurance company and would not release the car until they received it. (This is a well known insurance agency that the dealership had worked with over the years.)”A new service manager and a new policy,” they told me.

I wanted  to get the car back and for several days, I called and they still  had not received the check although it had been mailed over a week earlier. I am no stranger to checks lost in the mail – a missing paycheck once arrived to me in a torn envelope – a year later than it was mailed.

There were other attempts at accomodation made by the  agent from the insurance company. For example they’d cancel the check and instead deposit the money in my checking account. But I wasn’t having it. If necessary I’d do that down the road..

I had been dealing with a young, considerate and very polite technician about all of this. One day, knowing my frustration, he said, “Maybe tomorrow when we come in, the check will be in the mailbox.”

The next call I received from him was the following day when he informed me that when he had come to work, the check was in the mailbox.

And sure enough, it was. When I went to pick up the car, I reminded him of what he had said – and that his image of what would happen was so clear.

“I manifested it !” he said happily.

This week the powers of manifestation are very strong. It is wise to keep a very clear picture of your visualization and fire it with energy.

Venus is in Leo now and will trine Saturn and Neptune and sextile Uranus. On the relationship front there can be new opportunities for love and romance with long term potenial.

Pluto in Aquarius will be opposing Venus at this time. This is a good opportunity for empowerment and calling back your power from wherever it doesn’t belong.

It is also a good alignment for processing grief. It holds the power of transformation.

Uranus will be sextiling Neptune  which can awaken spiritual and creative visions. It can evoke a sense of wonder and give meaning where there was none before.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”In a quiet moment a creative individual experiences the flow of inspiration.”

Virgo Season and the New Moon

“The Feminine prefers process to product, meandering and enjoying the pleasure of the journey, rather than the masculine style, determining the goal and moving directly toward it in a straight line.” Marion Woodman

“He was a man who understood the value of small things.” Greg Mortenson

The Sun moves into the sign of Virgo on Thursday this week. With all the many changes going on in the world now, Virgo season encourages us to slow down and focus on the small things that make the larger initiatives gain traction.

It bodes well to look at the workings of body, mind and spirit to see if there are desired improvements – particularly in terms of moving away from unproductive habits.  Virgo season provides a good time for pattern breaking and creating healthier routines.

The  New Moon is on Saturday this week with the Sun and Moon at 0 degrees of Virgo. This opens up a cycle when it will bode well to nourish the nervous system and provide extra downtime in order to integrate information.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”Two guardian angels bringing protection.”
