Today Venus enters Gemini – the sparkling sign of duality. This ushers in a time (through July 30) that bodes well for being open to new ideas about love and relationships, abundance and happiness in general. If you feel attracted to or interested in a new idea, it bodes well to follow up on it. Not necessarily settle on it, yet, but follow up on it.

It is a good time to be open and flexible in your thinking.

Yesterday some friends installed a new washing machine and dryer at my house.  This was kind of a lucky event  because I was never sure how long my old washer would last. The new one, as well as the dryer, were a gift from a friend who no longer needed them.

This morning when I went to do the laundry , I was so surprised to find a very favorite necklace that I had lost some ten years ago. I had looked and looked for it over time. It must have fallen behind the dryer where I couldn’t see it .

The stone, which I had placed on a linen strand, was a Pi stone from Peru and been given to me as part of a ritual when I was studying Peruvian shamanism.

As I lifted it up from its dusty surroundings, I remembered that this week, with Jupiter conjunct the Sun, could be a lucky time.

The week starts off with the  Jupiter/Neptune square still widely in effect. This  can cloud linear thinking but it is good for imagination, inspiration and optimism.

The New Moon is on Wednesday at 4 degrees of Cancer. Jupiter will be conjunct the New Moon and Sun at this time.  This is a New Moon about home and family.

Jupiter in Cancer for the next year or so provides a good time for enjoying family and home life. It is also a good time to reconnect with family members or friends you may have lost contact with over time.

Later in the week, Mercury will sextile Uranus , Venus will sextile the North Node and the Sun will sextile Mars. It’s wise to raise awareness about any information that may surface related to  your personal evolutionary path. It is  also a time when there can be innovative and brilliant ideas. Be open to  taking a new approach .

Mercury will trine Saturn and Neptune indicating a good time for getting creative ideas into form.

Mercury all week is moving up to an opposition to Pluto – do watch for overthinking and obsession.

Venus in Aries is moving up to a harmonious aspect  with Jupiter – the planet of expansion early this week. This is an alignment that bodes well for pleasure – just best to keep moderation in mind.

Jupiter is in the late degrees of Gemini now preparing to enter the sign of Cancer on the 9th. Jupiter trasits last roughly a year and this time it will last through the beginning of July 2026.

Jupiter in Cancer provides a good time to get in touch with our emotions, inution and inner lives. It is a good time for building and repairing friendships with friends and family and for enjoying times with them.

Intuition, compassion and imagination will bring valuable life experiences and good luck. (Jupiter is the planet of luck.)

Jupiter will then move up to square the Saturn/Neptune conjunction. This can indicate that there may be a goal in sight but some confusion as to how to get there or make it real. In general there can be a one-step forward, two-steps back process going on. It’s best to slow down, take your time and make sure all the information is in before taking action.

Venus moves out of Aries this week on 6/6. Venus in Taurus is a lover of the good things in life. It provides a good time (through July 3) to spend time with people we love.

Venus in Taurus has a sensuous nature – often people with this placement are lovers of the land and have remarkable gardens.

It is a time when physical and emotional security are prioritized.

Mercury is busy in the sky this week . It is wise to raise awareness for any information that surfaces about the path to outgrowing old patterns – particularly thought patterns that can get us stuck. And to be open to new ways of thinking.

Mars is squaring Uranus now and will be exact on the 13. This can be somewhat of an accident prone time. Best to slow down and watch for impulsiveness.

The New Moon on Monday is at 6 degrees of Gemini. This ushers in a time that bodes well for learning, communication and travel.

Saturn just entered Aries -starting a new chapter. This New Moon too, adds a lot of support for starting something new. It is wise to keep intentions clear and strong and let go of blockages.

The Moon is making a favorable aspect to Saturn and Neptune indicating the importance of taking action on manifesting our intentions.

Pluto is also in harmonious aspect to the Moon. This can bring back strength and passion.

Jupiter and Mercury are both close by the Sun and Moon conjunction – indicating  a time that bodes well for keeping an open mind.

Saturn is now in the final – 29th – degree of Pisces readying to enter the sign of Aries on Sunday May 25. It will then form a conjunction to the planet of dreams and visions, Neptune.

Saturn brings  his  demanding, taskmaster energy to the creative and spiritual nature of Neptune. This alignment is one of the major aspects of this year.

The Sabian symbol for the 29th degree of Pisces is, “A majestic rock formation, resembling a face is idealized by a boy who takes it as his ideal of greatness. And as he grows, he begins to look like it.” This symbol speaks of the importance of having a goal which brings purpose and inspiration to our lives that we can aspire towards.

As Saturn prepares to enter Aries it bodes well to clarify your aspirations and to set an intention  to do the work that needs to be done and persevere through setbacks or obstacles.

It’s wise to raise awareness to receive any significant insights or breakthroughs  which come this week under the influence of the Mercury/ Uranus conjunction. This alignment is exact of May 24 but the influence of planet of illumination and innovation often comes early. In personal charts this indicates a very bright, off -the – grid mind that can come to innovative  conclusions much more quickly than others.

The Sun will enter the sign of Gemini on May 20. This ushers in a more sociable time of the year. Mercury will join this inquisitive sign on Sunday the 25. The mind quickens under this influence.

Gemini season (5/20-6/20) is a good time to be open to new ideas and to broaden thinking.

Recently we have had a lot of rain here in New England. One early  morning this week when I went out on my porch,  the scent of the purple and white lilacs and the apple blossoms in the yard drifted through the moist morning air. It  reminded me of the phrase in Wendell Berry’s poem, “the air is bright with breath of bloom.” In these rapidly changing times, our interconnection with the natural world can be so restorative.

The Full Moon this month is Monday May 12th at 22 degrees of Taurus.

Full Moons are a good time for release. In Peruvian shamanism they refer to this process as “shedding an old skin,”as a snake does.  If there is an old identity or belief system you’ve outgrown, this Full Moon at 22 degrees of Scorpio would be a powerful time to set an intention to let it go – and to move forward in a new direction.

Uranus is conjunct the Sun and opposite the Moon at this time. The wind is at our back in terms of moving in a direction of freedom and personal evolution.

Mercury just entered Taurus and will be in a square configuration with Pluto at 3 degrees of Aquarius. This aspect bodes well for work that requires concentration, but watch for overthinking.

There are a number of interpretations of the tightening Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Aries. One of them is that it can be a time on the earth of a growth in spiritual awareness. It bodes well to bring the spiritual / inspired energy down to the earth plane (Saturn.)

It’s a good time  to envision a healthy, sustainable future for our small planet.

At the beginning of the week – on Monday, (and in effect for several days)  Juno, the asteroid of commitment and partnership,  formed a harmonious alliance with Saturn.  This can bring an opportunity to see more clearly the qualities that help fortify and sustain healthy relationships.

Venus leaves the watery sign of Pisces on Wednesday and enters the fiery sign of Aries. Venus in Aries knows what she she wants and knows how to go and get it. This is an action – oriented sign which can display great courage and initiative. It’s great at  getting things started. There can be impulsiveness and sometimes, aggressiveness. This can bring fiery energy to relationships of all kinds.

On Friday Venus aligns harmoniously with Neptune, newly in Aries at 1 degree. The first degree of Aries is often referred to as the “Aries Point” – the point of significant beginnings. Significant world events can occur with transits  to this point.

One of the symbols of this Neptune in Aries  is “the spiritual warrior”, making it a good time to advocate for justice and for  those less fortunate.

It can be a time when there can be increased faith in the ability to be innovative and start anew. There is an openness and innocence with this  placement which can create a sense of wonder.

The New Moon this month is at 7 degrees of Taurus. At this time the Sun and the Moon will be forming a challenging alignment to the current Mars/Pluto oppostion in Leo and Aquarius.

The Mars Pluto opposition can be associated with power/over dynamics and power struggles, but it also provides a good time to look at the way we use power – how that may have changed over time, and how we would like to deal with it in the future.

It is wise under this influence to take care with speech as words spoken now may be harder to take back in the future.

The New Moon aspects Jupiter and the North Node in a semisqare alignment. This speaks of an opening or a turning point into the future. Pluto’s influence speaks of an opportunity for rebirth.

The Taurus New Moon opens a monthly cycle when it bodes well to consider issues related to security, finance, abundance, self care and self love.

Mercury enters fiery Aries today April 16th, leaving the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces,  and entering the first. Mercury in this sign can bring boldness , directness and courage to speech and thought. It is action oriented as opposed to the intuitive, sensitive sign of Pisces.

Mercury will partner up with Neptune, the planet of imagination and dreams. Do pay attention to intuitions, visions and dreams that surface now as they may come in the form of guidance.

Mars will leave the watery sign of Cancer this week –  on the 18th- after his long retrograde journey, and enter the fiery sign of Leo.  Mars will then make a favorable alignment with Neptune. The  next few weeks bode well for cultivating imagination,  vision and courage for  your journey forward.

The Sun moves out of Aries into Taurus on Saturday. This sign -ruled by the Bull- bodes well for planning, pragmatics and moving forward in a moderate, persevering way. It’s a good time to slow down and appreciate the good things in life.

Venus. the goddess of love and beauty, comes to a standstill on April 19 – the day of the Full Moon this month. Venus is a lover of harmony and some of the aspects at this time are feisty – with Mars – the god of action and desire forming a challenging square aspect to the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Libra.

One of the most notable alignments is the Sun at 23 degrees of Aries conjunct the Wounded Healer, Chiron. Chiron is an asteroid that governs the healing of fragmentation. In some shamanic traditions the belief is held that when trauma occurs, part of the soul fragments off. They can perform an ancient  ritual which calls back the missing pieces of the soul.

Chiron is associated with the process of healing and growth in evolution over time. With his presence so strong at the time of the Full Moon, this can be a time when old worries or wounds  resurface for another level of healing or the recognition of healing.It is a good time to stay in the present and be cognizant of your own process of evolution in this area.
