Juno and Jupiter Under a Relationship Sky

“It is only natural that during this period of planetary energy shifts, all forms of life are being disrupted, including the forms of relationship. As the new age unfolds, we will evolve new forms of relationship to each other that will be the natural outcome of living more integrated, soulful lives and this will release a tremendous amount of creative energy.” Kathy Newburn

Juno is considered the marriage asteroid in astrology. In mythology Juno was married to Jupiter and they had a traditional marriage. Juno kept her vows but Jupiter, who was a lover of pleasure and known for excess, was often out chasing nymphs. Juno as a result was often angry, bitter and jealous and sought revenge.

When her limit had been eventually reached and Juno made plans to leave,  Jupiter fell ill and nearly died.

In her book, A  Planetary Awakening, author, astrologer and theosophist, Kathy Newburn wrote that as the Age of Aquarius takes hold, it will be commonplace in the western world (as it is other cultures now)  for couples considering a serious commitment to consult an astrologer beforehand. This would be to ascertain information about compatibility and the individual relationship needs of each person.

Juno is transiting the sign of Aquarius now and this is reflecting the many relationship forms that people are increasingly considering or experimenting with now. It’s also showing the desire for freedom from traditional roles and agreements. It is said in astrology that if you have  Juno in Aquarius  in your natal chart, for instance, there can be a natural curiosity about romantic relationships and a desire  for the freedom to explore and learn about them in different ways. Juno in Aquarius is not motivated to in the same way Jupiter was  -primarily by pleasure. It is more of an intellectual search or quest for freedom and for knowledge of some kind.

It’s  beneficial to take this  kind of things into consideration when considering how vows are fashioned.

Juno can also symbolize by house and sign placement where you can feel trapped in your life. Juno, for instance, felt she  was trapped not only by Jupiter’s behavior,  but  by  her own commitment to stay with him.

Juno also speaks of commitment in general – the kind of commitments we make in our lives.

Of course Juno doesn’t stand alone when taking into consideration relationship compatibility. Other  things must be taken into account  such as the placement of the Sun, Moon, rising sign and other planets and their aspects as well.

Albert Einstein and the Sun Prepares to Enter Pisces

“How do I work? I grope.” Albert Einstein

“Every perception of the world around us is absolutely colored by the narrative or image-filled lens through which we perceive. We are all poets and artists as we live our daily lives, whether  or not we recognize this and whether or not we believe it” Thomas Moore

Albert Einstein was a Pisces – born on March 14. He  is well known for his quote, “imagination is more important than knowledge.” Einstein was also a very idealistic person (Pisces can often be this way) and after learning about how his work and discoveries had contributed to the great suffering and destruction  caused by the bombing of Hiroshima, he became an advocate for nuclear disarmament and formed the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists who opposed the use of the atomic bomb.

Pisces can have high aspirations and often deal with disillusionment as a result. This is where faith and spirituality come in and Pisces often value spiritual or religious life.

The Sun enters the sign of Pisces on Friday – strengthening the powers of imagination and intuition. This time frame – through March 20- provides a good time for imaginative, creative and spiritual growth.

Valentine’s Day and the Sun Prepares to Enter Pisces

“Be of love a little more careful than of anything.” ee cummings

“Everything that exists is an expression of relationships, alliances, and balances of energies, powers and spirits.” L David Peat

The Sun is in Aquarius now and Mercury will be entering this innovative, futuristic sign on Valentine’s Day.  This ushers in a time that bodes well for new and innovative approaches to planning and problem solving.  The transition to  Aquarius from Capricorn changes the element from earth to air. This provides a good time for a bit of detachment from the more intense energy of the Mercury/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn which has tended towards overthinking.

A broader, freer perspective will be available in the next few days and things will start moving forward more quickly.

Tuesday the Sun moves up to a square with the Lunar Nodes. This presents a good time to look at your relationship to power and to empowerment. The North Node in Taurus encourages us to move away from unproductive, self defeating ways of using power and into a more evolved, conscious and authentic direction.

Venus and Mars form an exact conjunction at 16 degrees of Capricorn this week.  These two are traveling together in Capricorn and then will move into Aquarius together. This is the aspect of the Cosmic Lovers. It’s a good time for romance and for bringing more harmony into relationships and partnerships of all kinds.

Pallas Athene has moved into Aries. This goddess advocated for justice and was renowned for her ability to create effective strategies. She brought the knowledge of conflict mediation to the gods and goddesses and would go to great lengths to avoid war. But when all the options were exhausted – no alternatives left- she was invincible in battle. She was known for her prudent restraint and was often pictured with an owl – a reminder of what she could not see.

Pluto is making a favorable alignment to the North Node  now – giving power and traction to plans for the future that are clearly defined and well structured. Pallas Athene in Aries lends drive and ambition. It’s a good time to take action.

The Full Moon is Wednesday at 11:56 AM at 28 degrees of Leo. More about this later.

The Sun will enter Pisces on Friday.
