Full Moon in Scorpio

“One must choose in all things a mean, just and good… Error and confusion dwell in the extremes.” Pythagoras

There is an old expression in astrology, “Full Moons are two days coming and two days going” and it is wise to factor in this influence as the Moon waxes Full Sunday at 13 degrees of Scorpio.

This Full Moon falls on the axis of Taurus – what we value – both in profound and mundane ways – and Scorpio – the sign which governs deep transformation and what we must let go if in order to move forward. Taurus wants to hold on, Scorpio demands letting go.

The Sun and Moon both square Jupiter – the planet associated with excess – and Jupiter forms a difficult angle with Pluto which tends to push things into overdrive. Watch for the tendency to overdo, over think and over react. With Saturn’s influence any new ideas or guidance that surfaces now is best sorted out over time rather than acted on immediately. It is easy to get swept away and bodes well to factor in pragmatics later.

It is a time when there could be important discoveries or revelations – as long as a moderate approach rules the day. One of the Sabian symbols for this time is, “A teacher gives new symbolic forms to traditional images. ”

The light of the Full Moon can unveil hidden things and give new courage and strength to go forward with a clarified vision.

Another symbols is, ” A canoe approaching safety through dangerous waters.”

Juno and Jupiter

“Let us be silent that we may hear the whispers of the gods.” Emerson

This year began with Jupiter in Leo in retrograde mode – and Jupiter recently stationed direct and resumed forward motion. Throughout this time Jupiter has been traveling with Juno, asteroid of commitment.

As Jupiter proceeds forward it is a good time to look at the commitments in your life – those made both on a deep level to your soul life as well as those on a more mundane level and see if there is room for bringing the inside and the outside into closer alignment.

Jupiter in Leo can shed light and wisdom on this area now – and the trine to fiery Uranus can provide direction through innovative thinking. Be open to breakthroughs.

One of the Sabian symbols associated with Jupiter’s placement now is, “Cherub- like a human soul whispers in every ear, seeking to manifest.” This symbol speaks of the opportunity for powerful realizations.

The Sun enters Taurus

The Sun is now in Taurus – an earth sign – and one of the Sabian symbols associated with this early degree is, “Natural steps to a lawn blooming with clover.” Take some time to nail down details and plan for steady growth for recent initiatives – particularly those started under the influence of the Sun’s recent transit through the fiery sign of Aries.

New Moon in Aries

“Music attracts the angels in the universe.”  Bob Dylan

This month’s New Moon is Saturday 4/ 18 at 28 degrees of Aries EDT. Aspects indicate help and support for setting very clear intentions at this time particularly with the powerful Mars Pluto trine – it can be a very energized time for manifesting dreams. It bodes well to let go of disappointments from the past to clear the way for new aspirations. Aspects to Neptune – the planet of dreams and visions – suggest that crystal clear affirmations and intentions will receive support from higher sources. One of the Sabian symbols for this time is, “Music of the Spheres” – listen to your inner voice and tune into the harmony around you.

Mercury Conjuncts Uranus , Jupiter Direct

“In contemplating sychronicities, don’t just marvel at the laws of probability, but wonder at their meaning. They’re there to remind us to think about what we are doing, to pay attention, but also to deepen the mystery of life.”

If you are looking for guidance this is a particularly good week to be on the lookout for synchronicities as Mercury is conjunct Uranus – exact on Wednesday and in effect through the 12th. The trickster is about! Pay attention to innovative, evolutionary ideas as well.

Jupiter will station direct on Wednesday also at 12 degrees of Leo bringing increased optimism, expansion and abundance. Check the house that Jupiter is transiting in your chart to get a sense of how this beneficent aspect is likely to affect you.

Ceres in Aquarius

“Individuality rises out of the soul as water rises out of the depths of the earth.” Thomas Moore

Ceres the asteroid associated with nurturing is conjunct the Midheaven at the time of Saturday’s eclipse. This elevated position makes Ceres more important at this time.
The placement at 0 degrees of Aquarius speaks of nurturing individual uniqueness – prioritizing personal growth and evolution in ways that are meaningful individually. This echoes one of the themes of the ongoing Pluto/Uranus square which has to do with evolving in a direction of more personal authenticity – by ascertaining what is true for you and by disavowing the false or no- longer-relevant voices of authority in your life.
One of the Sabian symbols associated with Ceres at 0 Aquarius is, “An unexpected thunderstorm.” Nurturing uniqueness as part of self care can lead to breakthroughs and revelations – as the thunderstorm clears the air.

Mars Moves into Taurus

“The world is but canvas to our imagination.” Henry David Thoreau

Mars has been transiting the late degrees of Aries and one of the Sabian symbols associated with this is,”Through imagination a lost opportunity can be regained.” This is a good symbol to keep in mind as we approach Saturday’s Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra.

Saturn and Jupiter

“A wise old owl sat on an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard;
Why aren’t we all like that wise old bird?” Edward Hersey Richards

We are in a time between eclipses with the upcoming Lunar Eclipse April 4 at 14 degrees of Libra. This eclipse strongly aspects the Uranus/Pluto square – the disruptive, dynamic, transformative aspect of our time – bringing it home in a very personal way.

Although there are aspects that suggest restlessness and a desire to initiate projects it is is best to pull together loose ends and finish or culminate projects in need of completion.

It also bodes well to contemplate how your life and aspirations have changed in the past five years or so and where you would like to be headed now. Pay special attention to the yearnings of the soul. Heed intuitive messages and guidance.

The Sabian symbol for Saturn’s placement now is,” And old owl perched high up in a tree.”

On the Vernal Equinox 2015

“Within you there remains an enchanted place where the colours are more luminous and the air more fragrant than ever; a place where marvels never cease; miracles and magic abound; and where fascination and enthusiasm breed creation. This place is called Aries.What an adventure lies ahead. The slate has been wiped clean. It is time to create afresh.”

Andrew Smith, Irish author and astrologer.

Solar Eclipse on the Equinox

“Revelation: a window on the journey of the soul.” F Aster Barnwell

This week as we approach the Solar eclipse (which falls on the Spring Equinox March 20) is very much a time of endings and beginnings. The final contact of the Uranus/Pluto square happens at 9:50 PM on March 16 although the effects and significance of this aspect – both personally and collectively – will be felt over many years to come.

The New Moon eclipse is at 29 degrees of Pisces (the very last degree of Pisces) and the Sabian symbol for that degree is, “A majestic rock formation resembling a face is idealized by a boy who takes it as his ideal of greatness; as he grows up, he begins to look like it.” This symbol is about our aspirations, about people or things in our lives that inspire us and that we emulate. It is also about making our aspirations manifest – as the face was in stone.

Another important symbol at this time is, “A youthful widow, fresh and soul cleansed from grief kneels at an open grave.” Shortly after the eclipse the Sun and Moon move into Aries marking the beginning of Spring and a fresh energized new start. The widow at the open grave speaks of a need to let go of the past and anything that hinders the potential progress of the powerful, action- oriented energies of the Spring Equinox.

The symbol for the shift into Aries is, ” A woman has risen out of the ocean, a seal is embracing her.” The symbol speaks of the emergence of the self in the midst of new revelations. Be open to intuitions that come this week that uncover hidden or missing links in perception that reveal important information you may have missed along the way.
