Saturn Retrograde and Chiron

“The modern world is desacrilized, and that is why it is in crisis. The modern person must rediscover a deeper source of her own spiritual life.” Carl Jung

Pluto is now in Capricorn but when it transited through Sagittarius –  the sign associated with belief systems and philosophy- it initiated  a time of widespread revelations about the corruption in organized religion – a corruption or misinterpretation we still read about in the news today. As a result there has been a disillusionment about faith and organized religion as well as a movement towards eastern philosophies which include meditation and yoga.

The recent emergence of the asteroids in astrology is correlated with the return of the Divine Feminine and the asteroid which is so strong in the sky now is Chiron – the asteroid of the Wounded Healer. Chiron is in Pisces indicating  a wound or fragmentation present in the realm of spirituality – a wound which impedes the ability to perceive of the interconnectedness of all things – earth and sky.

Chiron in Pisces brings up the question of  how we- as an individual and as a planet – conceive of the future and how hopeful we are about creating a positive and healthy one.

With  Saturn retrograde in Sagittarius and Chiron a strong influence  it is a good time to review issues related to hope, faith and interconnectedness in your own life and to look where Chiron falls in your own chart. It is here where a healing journey towards wholeness can occur through a creative or spiritual process.

Friends – If you are curious about where Chiron falls in your own chart, I will be offering special readings on the subject at discounted rates – ($30 for 15 minutes, $60 for 1/2 hour.) Get in touch if you would like to book some time.

Saturn Stations Retrograde

Though the spring is late and cold,
Though the uproar of greed
And malice shudders in the sky,
Pond, stream and hilltop raise
Their ancient songs.
The robin molds her mud nest
With her breast; the air
Is bright with breath
Of bloom, wise loveliness that asks
Nothing of the season but to be.  Wendell Berry
Saturn stations retrograde Friday the 25 at 16 degrees of Sagittarius and will remain retrograde through mid August. This presents a good time to review what you are trying to build or create in your life. It gives a good opportunity to review the process as if looking for something that was lost or hidden – are there other paths or directions you might have not considered that would be well advised to consider now? Were your original intentions the same as they are now or do they need to be modified?
A good thing to consider also is how you focus and direct your attention. Author and teacher David Tresemer has written that the strength of your intention is shown in your attention. In his book about the ancient stars of Persia he writes about King Jamshid who was given magical tools for the use of good and ill. One of these tools was a box through which you could see what was happening in other times and places – very much akin to our TVs, iphones and computers.
Recently I was listening to a news story about how children learn. They mentioned that accidents have increased on playgrounds as so many parents and caregivers are watching their devices as the children play. This is a good example of where attention can be directed now and how pervasive,  distracting and  unnecessary it has become. With Uranus (technology) so strong in the sky now and the ability to see what is happening in other times and places so readily available, it is wise to consider what impact this has on being in touch with your surroundings, and how it affects your concentration and your nervous system.
One of the Sabian symbols associated with the Saturn station is, ” Children playing in sunbonnets.”

Notes on the Week ahead

“We do not inherit the land from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.”Native American proverb
There are some contentious influences in effect for the next week which may more easily lead to disagreements and crankiness in general. However Venus in Aquarius is making a harmonious aspect to Uranus indicating a good time to reach for a collaborative solution as well as one that is inspired and innovative.
The veils are thinning as we move towards next Tuesday’s New Moon Solar Eclipse at 18 Pisces. Chiron the asteroid of the Wounded Healer is prominent at this time. It is an excellent time to raise consciousness about any emotional wounds you would like to heal and set intentions to do so.
The influence of the ancestors is strong at this time. It bodes well to set intentions related to healing from inherited or ancestral patterns that do not serve your way forward.
It is also a good time to honor the ancestors as many spiritual traditions do.Often the desired direction in life can be related to the unlived wishes of those who came before.
It bodes well to acknowledge help and direction obtained from teachers and mentors who have helped you along the way.
One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”A Master instructing his disciple.”

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Pisces

“Strengthening the imagination does not have the purpose of merely expanding consciousness beyond ordinary perception and thought. Rather such strengthening is intimately connected with our earthly world, with becoming ever more vividly alive.”Robert Sardello
We are heading into an eclipse period now with the upcoming New Moon Solar Eclipse at 19 Pisces on March 8. Eclipses are like evolutionary doorways and the upcoming one provides and excellent time for creative and spiritual renewal. Use the time leading up to this eclipse to let your imagination come alive and create some vibrant new intentions. One of the Sabian symbols associated with this time is, “In a quiet moment, a creative individual experiences the flow of inspiration.”
