Mars, Jupiter and Pluto

“People do fire walk. We are an open possibility.” Joseph Chilton Pearce

There are very good aspects for dynamic action and accomplishment this week. The recent Sun, Moon and Uranus configuration has brought unexpected events and synchronicities to many. If this was true for you look for the underlying meaning of these events and see if they indicate ways it would be beneficial to grow and expand. Explore possibilities.

There is support and guidance from the unseen realms this week too. The Sabian symbol for Venus at 4 Virgo is, “A person becoming aware of nature spirits and normally unseen spiritual energies.”

Saturn stations direct

“I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch. a promise.”
Saturn will station direct this Sunday  EDT in late Scorpio. Saturn’s transit back into the late degrees has provided a good opportunity to look at the kind of hold fear has on your life. It is a good time to bring clarity to this area and to commit to a new level of courage if necessary.
It bodes well for intentions related to bringing more balance and integration into the levels of body mind and spirit. Other aspects in play now indicate a very good time to get in touch with how to bring more joy into your life.

Mercury Enters Cancer & the Last Quarter Moon

“The act of perception is always open ended and unfinished.” David Abram

The last quarter Moon is Wednesday at 16 degrees of Aries which will aspect the ongoing Pluto/Uranus square. This is a good time to look at intentions set at the last New Moon on June 16 to see what progress has been made and what adjustments need to be made.

Mercury leaves the sign of Gemini this week and enters the sign of Cancer also on Wednesday. With this placement thoughts tend to be deeper and of a more emotional, personal and subjective nature.
One of the Sabian symbols associated with this transit is,”A man on a magic carpet observes vast vistas below.”

New Moon in Gemini and Neptune stations Retrograde

“If you change the names of things you change the way people will regard them.” Neil Postman

Neptune stationed retrograde on Friday 6/12 at 5:09 am. It will be in retrograde mode through Nov 18. This time frame bodes well for developing the powers of intuition and looking below the surface of things. It is also a good time to revisit dreams, aspirations and illusions with the intent of proceeding with more clarity in the future.

The New Moon is Tuesday at 25 degrees of Gemini conjunct Mars – making it a time of impulsive, aggressive energy. Projects started under this influence will receive an energetic boost.

The Gemini Moon makes challenging aspects to Chiron – the asteroid of the Wounded Healer- and the Black Moon Lilith. This is a volatile combination which can result in sudden anger and impulsive speech.

With Chiron’s involvement there is an opportunity for another level of healing if difficult situations arise. The Gemini Moon encourages taking multiple perspectives.

It is best to approach next week with moderation in mind.

January 2012 Astrology

“Let it grow, let it grow,
Let it blossom let it flow,
In the rain and in the snow…
Plant your love and let it grow.” Eric Clapton
Well here we are in 2012. Welcome to a very transformative time on planet  Earth.
The month of January is a fertile time for sowing the seeds of intention and fortifying tender shoots.  Be very clear and be open to affirmations. Endeavors which involve transformation and innovation will receive support.
It is a good month to examine daily routines and how they contribute to or detract from the ongoing creation of good health.  Identify unproductive habits related to work, lifestyle, diet and move in a more vibrant direction. Apply innovative approaches and methods.
When frustrations occur or tempers flare, regard it as an opportunity to interact in a new way rather than automatically responding with an old perspective.
Significant time frames and dates for the month:
The Full Moon falls on 1/9 at 18 degrees of Cancer. This Moon is related to the recent eclipses in Cancer and Capricorn. It involves the evolution of matters concerning home, family, ancestry, ancestral inheritance as well as the dream life and its correlation to the mundane world. Under the light of this full Moon it bodes well to contemplate these areas of life. It is a good time to ask for advice from ancestors.
January 8 – 14 Mercury will conjunct Pluto in Capricorn. It bodes well to think about how some traditional forms of thinking or being may no longer serve you and how you might organize your life to feel more effective and authentic.
From the 9th through the 18th Venus will conjunct Neptune.  On the 14 Venus will enter Pisces and conjunct Chiron. This period is an excellent good time for spiritual and creative growth. Chiron’s involvement indicates that it is a good time to heal old wounds through forgiveness and a spiritual approach.
Mars stations retrograde on the 23 – more about this later.
A word about 2012- Author and Jungian analyst Clarissa Pinkola Estes has written about the importance of acknowledging the many small and large deaths which occur throughout our lifetimes. Not necessarily literal deaths – although that can pertain as well – but endings which are transformative in nature – small and large endings which hold the seeds of a new beginning. Births, graduations, marriage, divorce, job changes, moves – all these kinds of events represent the death of the old and herald the start of the new. This is what the aspects of 2012 – widely in effect through 2017 are about – a gate time which represents a significant time in personal and planetary evolution.

New Moon 12/24

“Love is most nearly itself
When here and now cease to matter.” TS Eliot

The New Moon on Saturday December 24 falls at 2 degrees of Capricorn at 1:06 PM EST. Jupiter and Saturn are a strong influence in the sky as is Chiron- the asteroid of the Wounded Healer.  Resolution of difficult situations and doorways into opportunity can come now through a creative or spiritual approach.

Winter Solstice

The Sun enters Capricorn on the Winter Solstice Thursday December 22nd EST. At this powerful gateway the Sun will square Uranus and then move up to a square with Pluto – boding well for innovative and out of the box thinking. It is a good time to heed ideas that illuminate and evolve limited thought patterns. The Uranus/Pluto square – sometimes known as one of the 2012 aspects – is a wake up call about personal and planetary evolution.

On the 2012 Aspects

Once in an interview John Lennon was asked about the Beatles rise to fame. He responded that they were like the mast of a ship people could see on the horizon. What he meant by this was that their music symbolized a vision of the future embodied by the visionary sixties generation.  During the sixties Uranus and Pluto were conjunct and it was in many ways a progressive, innovative and revolutionary time (all trademarks of Uranus and Pluto.)  The back to the land movement made manifest a desire for a more holistic relationship to the earth. Many communes sprung up with the intention of creating a more equitable relationship between the genders, more enlightened systems for relating to each other, and more enlightened business practices. The knowledge and practice of holistic healing modalities increased. Meditation, eastern philosophy and metaphysics were very much on the rise.  Much of the desire and effort to create a more just world through non violent means such as the March on Washington and the anti war marches which helped to bring the Vietnam war era to a halt, came  under the influence of this innovative, revolutionary planetary pair.

The astrological aspects of 2012 represent another turn of the Wheel of these two planets as Uranus and Pluto now move into a square.  We now see many of the evolutionary initiatives of the 60s flourishing in the western world – in the widespread practice of yoga, meditation, organic farming and environmentally conscious living.

There is a strong backlash now as then  also –  visible in polarized views of policy.  This can be seen in various conflicts involving agribusiness, energy companies, the banking industry, Wall Street etc.

Renowned author, seer and visionary Edgar Cayce was once asked what he thought would happen with the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012. He responded that he could not see what would happen because there was such a large grey wall of fear around it. We live in a time when New Age philosophy and contemporary physics concur that thoughts influence reality – an innovative (Uranus) and revolutionary (Pluto) view.

The mast on the ship , the initial sighting of a new dawn or a new age that John Lennon spoke of is a good image to carry forward as opposed to the highly sensationalized and  fearful  vision of the future which Casey foresaw and we can see and feel all around us.
