This Week’s Astrology with Saturn, Pluto and the South Node

“Be like the fox who makes more tracks than necessary, some in wrong directions. Practice resurrection.” Wendell Berry

Last week Pluto stationed retrograde and this week Saturn will. When Saturn is stationary in the sky as it is now, things can feel more serious and sometimes burdensome.

This duo in conjunction with the South Node  is a caution about clinging to things that no longer work. This includes things like jobs or financial strategies as well outgrown patterns of thinking and feeling.

Pluto will travel retrograde through early October making this a good time frame for considering how to restructure your life in a way that feels more up to date, effective and in line with your soul’s purpose.

Mars continues to aspect Neptune this week and it bodes well to focus on what makes you feel empowered. Do keep in mind a positive view of the future.

Mercury makes a positive aspect to Mars this week indicating a good time for concentration and for working independently. It’s wise to keep doubt and self criticism at bay and focus on what needs to be done.

Do be aware that with Uranus in Taurus there can be a shift in what you value in your life  – in terms of work,  finances and relationships.

There is a powerful New Moon on Saturday at 14 degrees of Taurus.  There is wind at your back for setting new intentions related to work, home and finances with at this time. Do take advantage of it.

One of the Sabian symbols for the Saturn station is,”A hidden choir singing during a religious service.”

The Sun in Taurus, Uranus and Venus

“Uranus’ transit of Taurus is redefining security, resources and values by abruptly shaking what’s been set and stagnant.” Nadia Gilchrist

“So as I learned from my journalism teacher and as I now teach others detachment is essential to accomplishing an accurate evaluation.” Carolyn Myss

“There are no problems, only solutions.” John Lennon

Uranus, the futuristic planet of innovation recently entered the sign of Taurus. This earthy sign governs values (what we own)  and what we value – materially, emotionally and spiritually. Depending on which house in your chart Uranus is transiting for the next seven years, there is likely to be a shift or change in what you value in that area. Uranus is also the planet of detachment. It is wise in these rapidly changing times, to stand back when things get heated and reevaluate them from a different perspective.

The powerful transformative alignment of Pluto, Saturn and the South Node is calling for restructuring. We can see this influence in the disruptions to established structures in the outside world and it also has an influence on the inner life. It is wise to focus on what no longer works and creating a system that functions more effectively and appropriately for your current circumstances.

The Sun has been traveling with Uranus – do be open to innovative ideas and new directions for your life that open up a freer path.

Venus enters the sign Aries this week. Aries is the go- getter sign of the zodiac, likes to start things and has courage and drive to accomplish them. This week Venus conjuncts Chiron in Aries which can bring us in touch with longstanding or inherited  wounds  related to self esteem, finances and love. If this occurs it’s wise to take a detached view of the situation in order to see more clearly what needs to be done to move in a new direction. Sometimes it is a matter of a shift in perspective. There is a lot of courage available now for this kind of process with this duo.

Illumination, Breakthroughs and wake up calls are on the table now!

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”Natural steps to a lawn blooming with clover. “

The Full Moon in Libra and This Weeks Astrology

“It later became clear to me that no matter what we do in science or any other area, it will not help if we don’t find a way to be related to each other on a deep level.” David Bohm

“I like it better here where I can sit just quietly and smell the flowers.” Ferdinand the Bull

This weekend I attended a workshop led by Lynn Bell who teaches at the Centre for Psychological Astrology in London.  The workshop was about the Pluto/Saturn conjunction and the cycles of these two planetary power houses throughout history. In the course of her lecture Lynn Bell spoke about JK  Rowling’s chart and the publication of her first book about Harry Potter. When originally she was writing the story, JK Rowling heard a voice tell her that if she could manage to get the book published it would be very successful. She was rejected by publisher after publisher but persevered until she  finally found the one who would put her book out into the public and lead to its wide recognition and success.

Monday and Tuesday are a good time to heighten awareness to receive  intuitive messages with Mercury semi-sextile Uranus in Taurus. Do be open to messages related to the higher visions in your life – information which can point the way forward in a way you may not have anticipated.

Mercury enters the sign of Aries on Tuesday. This sign is associated with direct speech that can  at times be  unaware of its influence on others. It is wise to take extra care in communications now for this reason and also because we are entering into a Full Moon phase which is very much about relationships and the strains and stresses that can be encountered in that realm.

The Moon Waxes Full on Friday at the karmic degree – 29 degrees of Libra. The Moon will be making a challenging aspect to Venus -almost at that degree- at 28 degrees of Pisces which can make this a testy time for relationships of all kinds – romantic, work, friendship etc. The Moon is opposing Uranus at this time as well indicating the likelihood of sudden endings or beginnings and separations as well as revelations or breakthroughs  about relationship issues. Hidden information can come out.

This theme is also emphasized by Mercury moving up to a conjunction with Chiron in Aries. Best to be open to the possibility of breakthroughs that enable your to move on more freely.

Saturday the Sun moves into Taurus the sign of the bull.

The Sabian symbol for the Sun’s entrance into Taurus is,”An electrcal storm illuminates the heavens and the forests.”

The Soul’s Journey and the Lunar Nodes

“In a shrinking world that needs a good shrink , we don’t need another theory of evolution. What we need is the practice of evolution.” Swami Beyondananda.

“Soul loves the journey itself. The textures and undulations of the path it has made through the landscape by hazard and design are nurturing in themselves.” David Whyte

The Sun is now squaring the Lunar Nodes and Jupiter stationed retrograde this week. All told it is a good time to think about how you want to handle challenges and obstacles as you move forward. It is a good time for the renewal of energy, vision  and courage.

Mercury is making  a harmonious  aspect to the North Node which governs , among other things,  the soul’s journey of evolution in this lifetime.  It bodes well to note any information which surfaces through intuition now which points the way forward for you.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”An open window and a net curtain blowing into the shape of a cornucopia.”

This Weeks Astrology with the Sun, Pluto and Saturn

“Pluto brings in the powerful redefinition of old rules and traditions. The current structure is dying and old versions of authority are falling away.” Nadia Gilchrist

“The  universe is  evolving towards and even greater destiny and we are the means of  the global transformation.” Pir Vilayat Inayar Khan

It’s best to approach this week with good boundaries in place as Venus will be conjunct Neptune – the planet of dreams and visions. Venus rules love and affection and Neptune rules  divine compassion. This duo is aware of the suffering of the world.  It’s a good time to look at how you contribute to making the world a better place or how you would like to. It’s a good time for spiritual growth, mystical journeys and creativity. The downside of this duo is feeling victimized. The pull of addictive behavior can be strong.

It’s a good week to use more discernment when i comes to financial matters.

The Sun is squaring the Saturn this week and then will  move up to a square with Pluto and the Lunar Nodes indicating a very karmic time. Old obstacles may present themselves in a new form.  It’s a good time to look at what you need to release in your life in order to move forward . If there are issues you have wanted to work on and have been putting off,  now would be a good time to start.

Jupiter stations retrograde this week. Wherever it is transiting in your chart indicates  an area where things have become too limited and you need to push through obstacles to create new growth.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”A nature spirit dancing in the mist of a waterfall.”

Friday’s Fiery New Moon in Aries

“What you can do or dream or can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.” Goethe

“The bamboo for prosperity,” a friend explained to me,”the pine for long life and the plum for courage…the plum for courage because the plum puts forth blossoms while the snow is still on the ground.” Madeleine Engel

“I tell you, the past is a bucket of ashes.”Carl Sandburg

Mars is making a harmonious sextile to Chiron this week.  If you have been wanting to move forward in your life but have been  dealing with a nagging insecurity or if you have been dragging your feet to face an old or habitual obstacle in your path, Mars will support and  lend courage and determination  to any initiatives of this nature now.

Friday’s fiery New Moon at 15 degrees of Aries  has a lot of power to support and  help actualize strong intentions, given one caveat. The Sun and the Moon in Aries will be squaring Saturn, Pluto and the Nodes of the Moon. This indicates a karmic  threshold of sorts and to activate this energy favorably it bodes well to be willing to let go of perhaps longstanding beliefs or assumptions from the past  that hinder your forward movement and are  no longer necessary. Make space for new perspectives or a new orientation with Mars now in Gemini. This placement can help considerably with considering things from differing perspectives.

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon is, “Brightly clad brownies dancing in the warm dancing light.”

This Week’s Astrology Forecast

“The healing
that is ours and nature’s will come
If we are willing, if we are patient,
If we know the way, if we do the work.” Wendell Berry

“When we change inwardly we outgrow certain belief patterns and strengthen others. Evaluating our beliefs is a spiritual and biological necessity. Our physical bodies, minds and spirits all require new ideas in order to thrive.” Caroline Myss

The South Node in Capricorn has been transiting in close proximity to Pluto the god of transformation and rebirth for awhile now and this week the conjunction is exact, making this a significant time.

The South Node governs inherited tendencies that come down through the bloodlines. It also governs assumptions and behaviors that limit personal growth and evolution. Now in partnership with Pluto  those attitudes and beliefs can be seen and experienced with increased clarity. It’s a good time to look at thought patterns and assumptions in general -especially those that may have become overly rigid, restrictive or limited. It bodes well to look  at what’s standing in your way and disavow what is no longer necessary. Both the South Node and Pluto are associated with karma, destiny and evolution making this a potent time.

Feisty Mars, the god of energy and drive has moved into the sign of Gemini  and will transit this sign through most of the month of April. Mars likes to take action and this placement and can be restless and a bit scattered. It’s a good time for travel and activities that broaden your perspective. Communications can become more lively and interesting – given you are open to two sides of the story. Gemini is one of the signs of duality in astrology and it’s best to keep moderation and equilibrium in mind at this time as this nervy placement can be scattered,  impatient and  at times abrupt.

The lingering effects of the Mercury retrograde can still be in play this week as Neptune and Mercury meet up for the final time this round – a reminder that thinking can be foggy, it may be hard to discern truth from fiction or outright deception.  It bodes well to keep communications very clear.

The linear mind doesn’t operate as effectively with this influence but it is a very good time for spiritual pursuits, for meditation, intuition and artistic projects. This influence will be out of influence in a week or so.

One of the Sabian symbols for the Mars now is, “A glass bottomed boat reveals undersea wonders.”

Mercury Retrograde Ends

“We have this way of talking, and we have another.
Despite what we wish and what we fear may happen,
We are alive with other life, as clear stones
Take form in the mountain.” Rumi

“Hope is a memory of the future.” Gabriel Marcel

Venus enters the sign of Pisces on Tuesday this week indicating a time that bodes well for creativity as well as spiritual growth and evolution. The sign of Pisces – the final sign of the zodiac – is associated with wisdom attained traveling though the lessons of the previous eleven signs. Venus is exalted in this sign meaning it is a good time to expand consciousness, to grow in compassion and in unconditional love. This muse- type energy indicates porous boundaries however and it is wise to have strong boundaries in place for the few weeks  or so.

Mercury will station direct – ending the retrograde period – on Friday at 16 degrees of Pisces. Mercury will station conjunct Neptune at this time indicating a foggy, smokescreen type environment. These two planets have been traveling together for awhile now and it can be difficult at times to separate truth from fiction and illusion from reality. The downside of this duo can be deception of some kind.

It bodes well to make an extra effort to stay centered and grounded this week  because the atmosphere can lead to increased worry if not held in check.

It is wise to note any information that surfaces within a few days before and a few days after the Mercury station as this time frame  is associated with a culmination of information. It’s best to assume not all the information is and to make extra space for down time and restorative time over the next several weeks.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is, “In a quiet moment, a creative individual experiences the flow of inspiration.”

The Astrology of the Vernal Equinox 2019

“Continuity and perpetual renewal go hand in hand.” Stewart Brand

A new Spring season starts this Wednesday as the Sun enters the fiery, action oriented sign of Aries on the Vernal Equinox. There are significant aspects to the North Node of destiny and life path during this time. Do be aware of guidance and  information of this nature that surfaces now. The powers of intuition continue to be strong with Mercury transiting close to Neptune.

Aspects also indicate it is a good time for renewed courage and vision.  This will be helped by the harmonious Mars/Pluto trine which adds energy, drive and motivation.

The Moon waxes full shortly after the Equinox at 0 degrees of Libra. At this time the Sun is conjunct Chiron, the asteroid of the Wounded Healer. This is a good time to identify and step out of  relationship patterns that no longer work. It is also a good time to look at the balance between your needs and the needs of others in relationship and whether that needs to be brought into a better balance.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”The dawn of a new day reveals everything changed.”

This Weeks Astrology with Saturn and Mars

“I long to accomplish a great and noble task but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble.” Helen Keller

“One must choose in all things a mean – just and good. Error and confusion dwell  in the extremes.” Pythagoras

I had a dream recently that mirrored an actual childhood event. When I was young I lived by the sea and one day after a storm I went with a friend to see how her small sailboat had survived a storm. Her sailboat was tied up to a dock at a neighborhood club. Her boat was fine – we just needed to bail it out. But it was a motorboat, moored near the dock that caught my attention. It was fully submerged in the shallow water.

For some reason this image, which in its own way is dreamlike, has stayed with me throughout the years. But recently in a dream I found myself back there staring into the shallow water at the sunken motor boat. In the dream though, the boat had a table which was set for dinner. I dove down and grabbed the silverware and brought it to the surface.  Later I called a friend who understands  imagery well and asked her what she thought it was about. She said, “I think it is about retrieving lost treasures in your life.”

When I mused about lost things I thought about the many the stories I had written that had been lost in various computer crashes over the years. Spurred on by her idea, I entertained the idea that perhaps I had made hard copies at some point and perhaps could find some of them.  I searched through boxes and closets  and an old icloud account and  much to my surprise, I  managed to find quite a bit of the writing.

This week  the Sun sextiles Pluto providing a fertile time for retrieving lost things. The influence of the Mercury retrograde supports this also. Lost things can be actual physical things and also things that may have become undervalued or diminished  along the way. Qualities like hope, courage and optimism.

Pluto also brings his influence to Mercury, the planet of communication and thinking this week. It bodes well to deepen thinking as this can bring fresh insights to old perceptions.

Other aspects this week indicate the tendency for information overload and for overthinking. As Mars moves up to a benevolent aspect to Saturn, a lot can be accomplished now as long as there is moderation, restraint and discipline in your approach.

One of the Sabian symbols for this time is,”A symbolic battle between the Disciples of Might and The Disciples of Enlightenment.”
